H.L. AERONWEN brings a beautiful fresh approach into female fronted metal. I love the clear, charismatic voice which reminds me of folk music in its storytelling style. The musical influences are varied and include several unusual instruments. From calm acoustic passages to symphonic and heavy parts, they all work very well and are catchy. Only the harsh vocals often sound "attached" and not integrated, so most songs had been even better without them. Anyway, a soulful, organic album, full of hits! Favorite track: Tangled.

PKMetal Wow. Magnificent is the only word for this. If you've ever liked any of the big-name female-fronted symphonic metal bands, give this a try now. It doesn't just have potential; all the elements needed to stand out in the genre are there already: vocals, lyrics, songwriting, musicianship, all glued together by a major label-worthy production. Outstanding album from start to finish. UPDATE: Why change the cover? The original was much more appropriate. I doubt I ever would have clicked on this one.

As a fan since Vovin, I feel Therion's releases have only gotten better since the excellent Gothic Kabbalah in 2007 (apart from the brief downturn of Beloved Antichrist). All 3 Leviathans rank at or near the very top of Therion's discography. As a bonus, no symphonic metal albums have ever had more perfect production than this, where every element is crystal clear and at just the right level in the mix. PKMetal
